In case you’ve been losing sleep wondering why we haven’t seen
much of Megan Fox for awhile (since the 2012 Judd Apatow comedy This is 40) it’s
because she’s been busy having babies – Noah, 2 years old, and Bodhi, 5 months. But have no fear, she’s back in the limelight
now, looking as beautiful as ever, out promoting her new movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. “Motherhood has changed me as a person in every possible way,”
she says. “Because once you
have pushed two children out of your body, there’s not much to be afraid of
anymore.

It’s changed the way that I think about what is human life, what is spirituality,
because I feel like I have had to known these souls before because the bond is
too great, and that sort of sent me off on a spiritual quest. I was raised in a
really religious family, in a sort of repressive environment, but even though some
of the beliefs were archaic, spirituality was a tangible experience for me because
I saw it on everyone’s faces and I experienced it going to church. But as I got
older I wasn’t satisfied with that sort of black and white environment and I
needed more answers, I still need more answers.

I read a lot of books and
there’s a book called Journey of Souls, all about reincarnation and lives
between lives and that sort of changed my perspective and it’s gotten me into
doing past life hypnotherapy and things like that. And I am becoming very
metaphysical and esoteric, which is the antithesis of how my family is. But I
feel like I outgrew that place in my life where you hold onto resentments towards
your parents. I recognize that they will never be who I hope they will be so I try
to just love them for who they are. And I hope they do the same with me. They
try to be supportive in their own way. Well…” She pauses and laughs, “My father has never
said anything, but I am sure it bothers him when I am on the cover of GQ with
cherries in my mouth. I think about that sometimes, I’m like, Oy Vey! My poor
dad.”
