Emma Stone no usará Twitter

Era una pregunta simple: ¿Cuál es tu relación con las redes sociales? Después de todo, Emma Stone es joven y famosa con miles de fans que seguramente la seguirían en Twitter. Pero la estrella de Birdman y El sorprendente Hombre Araña sólo sacude la cabeza: no. 

«Solía tener MySpace cuando era adolescente. En aquel entonces estaba muy a la moda. Tenía MySpace y luego tuve Facebook un ratito. Pero luego te contactan personas que no has visto en muchísimo tiempo y, no sé, como que hay amistades que uno no quiere conservar toda la vida. Empiezas a escuchar de toda esta gente que más o menos conociste en la clase… cientos de personas que en algún momento te conocieron y se vuelve demasiado abrumador. Todo eso a mí me saca mucho de onda y terminé por borrar my Facebook. No lo hice para no hablar con nadie… pero tal vez sí lo hice un poco para no hablar con nadie». Respira profundo y continúa. Evidentemente es un tema sobre el que ha pensado mucho: «Y lo mismo para Twitter, pero más. Se me hace muy sobrecogedor tener a tanta gente hablándome o mandándome mensajes y preguntando cosas o reclamándome… Es un poco como estar parada al centro de un grupo de gente y todos te están hablando al mismo tiempo. Es imposible concentrarte. No es que no quiera conversar, pero un lado de mí no quiere. Es muy sobrecogedor. Sí».

It was a simple question: what’s your relationship to social
media? After all, Emma Stone is young and famous, with tens of thousands of
fans who undoubtedly would love to follow her on Twitter.  But the star of BIRDMAN and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 just
shakes her head NO.

“I used to have – I mean, I had My Space when I was a teenager.
I was pretty hip then so, yeah, I used to have My Space and then I had Facebook
for a little while. And then there are people that contact you on Facebook that
you haven’t seen in a long time and you know, there are certain friendships
that maybe you’re not going to keep your entire life for whatever reason. And
you start to hear from all these peopl that you sort of knew from home room, hundreds of people
that you’ve known at some point in the past and it becomes kind of instantly overwhelming. So that kind
of freaks me out and that’s when I deleted my Facebook and then – not to not
talk to people but kind of to not
talk to people I guess.” She takes a breath and continues.  Social media is obviously something she’s
thought a lot about. “And the same for twitter only more so. If you have a
bunch of people tweeting at you or a bunch of people messaging you that you
can’t possibly respond to or asking questions or angry about something or
excited about something and you – I think it’s like being in the middle of a
group and having a bunch of voices talk to you all at once, it’s impossible to
focus. It’s not that I don’t want to engage but I sort of don’t. It’s the
overwhelming nature of it. Yeah.”

Next up, Emma is in rehearsals to make her Broadway debut,
