Nolan vs. Chastain – La batalla de las campañas

¿Qué está mal aquí? Jessica Chastain tiene dos cintas en las noticias este mes: Interestelar y A Most Violent Year, de J. C. Chandor. No hay nada de raro, ¿cierto? A los estudios les gusta lanzar sus películas más importantes a finales de año para que puedan ser recordadas a la hora de las votaciones de los premios. Julianne Moore estrena Maps to the Stars, Still Alice y Los juegos del Hambre Sinsajo – Parte 1. Pero lo que hace interesante a esta situación es que Jessica tiene una cláusula en su contrato que le prohibe hacer publicidad para A Most Violent Year hasta diciembre. Y esa cláusula está ahí por insistencia de nada menos que el director Christopher Nolan. Él todavía no ha comentado al respecto y aunque le dio «permiso» de pasar por la alfombra roja en la premiere del American Film Institute, ella no puede aparecer en talk shows o hacer publicidad normal con su coestrella y amigo desde hace muchos años, Oscar Isaac. Todos en Hollywood comentan sobre lo ridículo que esto hace ver a Nolan. ¿Ustedes qué creen?

What’s wrong with this picture? Jessica Chastain has two
movies in the news this month: INTERSTELLAR and J.C. Chandor’s A MOST VIOLENT YEAR. No big
deal, right?  Studios always like to have
their ‘important’ films open in those end of the year months where they are
more likely to be remembered for awards voting. Julianne Moore has MAPS TO THE
STARS, STILL ALICE and THE HUNGER GAMES MOCKINGJAY PART 1. But what makes this particular situation newsworthy is
that Jessica has a studio contract clause that prohibits her from promoting A
MOST VIOLENT YEAR until early December. And that clause was insisted upon by
none other than director Christopher Nolan. He has yet to comment on the issue
but “allowed” her to attend the American Film Institute’s premiere and walk the
red carpet, but no TV talk shows or normal publicity promotions with her
co-star and longtime good friend Oscar Isaac. Hollywood is buzzing about how
