Bill Murray: perdido con el Fantástico Sr. Clooney
Los actores prestan sus voces para El fantástico Sr. Zorro, lo nuevo de Wes Anderson.
“Trabajar con Wes Anderson ha sido el momento culminante de mi vida” grita Bill Murray, fresco de su papel como Bager en The Fantastic Mr. Fox. “Vives una maravillosa, excitante y gran vida cuando estas trabajando con Wes. Trabajamos lo más duro que podemos pero él lo hace divertido. Especialmente esta vez”.
Pero es una película animada, ¿qué tan diferente puede ser de las otras películas animadas a las que ha dado su voz? “Usualmente no conoces a nadie más en la película. Trabajas en una cabina de sonido así que no conoces a los actores, ni siquiera los ves, sólo al ingeniero de sonido. Esta vez estuvimos juntos, trabajamos juntos actuando las escenas y luego comíamos juntos, cenábamos juntos y todos contábamos historias hasta que la gente se iba a dormir. Veíamos las actuaciones de cada uno así que recibíamos retroalimentación en el instante. Mira, el tiene dientes más afilados que los míos, está siendo un animal. Estaba grabando el audio cuando un avión o helicóptero volaba por la zona, así que ponían uno animado en la escena. Era único”.
¿Cómo conoció por primera vez a Anderson? “Sabes, por eso es que ya no tengo a un agente. Wes Anderson quería que estuviera en su película Ladrón que roba a ladrón. Nunca supe de esto porque mis agentes en su elegante y gran agencia nunca me dieron el guión porque era un don nadie. Yo era una especie de estrella de cine y el era este chico de Texas. Así que el guión nunca llegó a mis manos. Alguien más lo hizo y fue genial. Y aprendí una gran lección de esto. Conocí a Wes. Ahora si alguien realmente quiere contactarme pueden venir directamente a mí, y yo leeré el guión. Simplemente ahora lo hago sin un agente.”

“Working with Wes [Anderson] has been the highlight of my life,” roars Bill Murray, fresh from his role as Badger in THE FANTASTIC MR. FOX. “You live a grand, wonderful, exciting life when you’re working with Wes. We work as hard as we can but he makes it fun. Especially this time.”
But it’s an animated movie, how different can it be from all the other animated films he’s voiced? “Usually you never meet anyone else in the film. You work in a sound booth so you don’t meet the actors or see them, just the sound recordist. This time we were all together, we’d work together acting out all the scenes and then we’d have lunch together, we’d have dinner together, we’d all tell stories until people fell asleep. We were watching each other perform so we’d get real feedback. Oh look, he’s got sharper teeth than I do, he’s being an animal like that. Also he was recording the sound so when a plane goes over or a helicopter flies past, they would just animate one into that scene. It was unique.”
How did he first meet Anderson? “You know this is why I don’t have an agent any more. Wes Anderson wanted me to be in his movie BOTTLE ROCKET. I never heard about it because my agents at their big fancy agency never got me the script because he was nobody. I was like a movie star and he was this kid from Texas. So that script didn’t get to me. Somebody else got to do it. And it was great. And I learned a big lesson from that. And I met Wes. Now if somebody really wants to find me they can come to me, they can come to me directly, and I’ll read their script. Just not through an agent.”
