Fue hace casi una década cuando una amiga me presentó a Peter Dinklage, quien fuera su 
compañero en Bennington College. Fue la primera de muchas noches largas comiendo y bebiendo; sentados en el piso con mis perros; riendo y tomando fotos tontas uno al otro; y hablando sin cansancio de cintas independientes que queríamos hacer. Poco tiempo después del Festival de Cine de Toronto, recuerdo haberme salido discretamente de una exclusiva premiere de 21 gramos para poder llegar al screening de The Station Agent y ver cómo el público se volvía loco por Pete en la after party.
Estaba orgullosa de él y estoy orgullosa ahora –interpretando a Tyrion Lannister en la exitosa serie de HBO Game Of Thrones, ganando el Emmy a Mejor Actor Secundario en una serie de Televisión, nominado a un Globo de Oro en la misma categoría y siendo un papá primerizo. Su más reciente filme, Pete Smalls Is Dead que está co-protagonizada por Steve Buscemi, Tim Roth, Rosie Perez y su co-estelar de Game Of Thrones, Lena Heady, ya se encuentra disponible en Video on Demand en E.U.
El escritor y co-creador de Game Of Thrones, David Benioff no quiso dar detalles, pero insistió en que veremos mucho más de Pete en la nueva temporada. Eso espero. ¡Buena suerte en los Globos Pete!
My friend Pete
It was just about a decade ago when a friend introduced me to Peter Dinklage, her buddy from their days at Bennington College. It was the beginning of many late nights, eating and drinking, sitting on the floor with my dogs, laughing and taking silly photos of one another, talking endlessly about the indie films we wanted to make. Soon after at the Toronto Film Festival, I remember sneaking 
out of the hot-ticket gala premiere of 21 Grams in order to catch the screening of The Station Agent, and watching the crowd go wild for Pete at the after-party.
I was proud of him then and I’m proud of him now – starring as Tyrion Lannister in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, Emmy winner for Best Supporting Actor in a TV series, nominated for a Golden Globe in the same category, and a new dad. His latest movie, Pete Small is Dead, also starring Steve Buscemi, Tim Roth, Rosie Perez and his Game of Thrones co-star Lena Headey, is now available on Video on Demand.
Game of Thrones writer and co-creator David Benioff didn’t give away any details but insists we’ll be seeing much more of Pete in the new season. I hope so. Good luck at the Globes, Pete!
