Qué viajecito para Robert Pattinson, el renuente vampiro de Twilight, que pasó del casi total 
anonimato hace poco más de un año a convertirse en uno de los más ícónicos miembros de la cultura popular de la nueva generación. ¿Ya aprendió a vivir con la rabiosa adoración de los fans?

"Es extraño porque ahora es completamente diferente, pero igual sigo diciendo lo mismo sobre la fama que el año pasado –dice riendo–. Porque realmente no sé en qué consiste mi vida diara, cuando estás en un set, la verdad es que no importa si eres famoso o no. Te levantas a las 5:00 de la mañana y para cuando regresas a tu casa en la noche, ya no tienes ganas de hacer nada, sólo irte a dormir. La mejor respuesta que te puedo dar es que tengo la oportunidad de conocer muchos baños muy bonitos en hoteles alrededor del mundo –ríe–. Pero la onda de las multitudes es diferente, y sí te dan ganas de irte a esconder. Estoy agradecido por los fans pero es muy difícil cuando la gente cree que te conoce muy bien, sobrecargando la internet con información sobre tu vida personal, y sea cierto o no, de cualquier forma se vuelve parte del conocimiento popular. Es difícil disfrutar esa parte de este trabajo".??

It’s been quite a ride for shy Rob Pattinson, the reluctant vampire of Twilight going from virtual anonymity little more than a year ago to becoming one of the most insanely popular pop icons of the new generation. Has this reluctant celebrity learned to live with the rabid fan adoration?
“It’s strange because it’s completely different now but also I can say the same thing I said last year about the fame aspect,” he laughs. “Because I don’t really know what my everyday life is, when you’re working on a film set it doesn’t really matter if you’re famous or not. You wake up at 5:00 in the morning and by the time you get home at night you very rarely want to do anything, you just want to go to bed. The best answer I could give is that I get to see a lot of nice bathrooms in great hotels around the world. –laughs–. But the crowd thing is different, it does inspire a certain amount of hiding. I’m grateful for the fans but it’s very difficult when people think they know you too well, overloading the internet with information about your personal life and then whether it’s true or not it becomes part of the lore. It’s hard to embrace that aspect of this job.”
