¡Las boobs explosivas de Sofia Vergara!

En
caso de que no hayan visto los anuncios, en la secuela de Machete de Robert Rodriguez, Sofía Vergara interpreta a Desdemona,
una mujer con mini-metralletas en sus pechos. Pero, con curvas como las de
ella, ¿acaso la estrella de Modern Family
no siempre ha estado armada?

Ella
se ríe con esa risa tan contagiosa, «Sabes, no sabía en qué me estaba
metiendo cuando Robert le habló a mi agente diciéndole que me querían en esta.
Me emocioné mucho. Siempre he querido hacer una película con él, así que le
dije que sí, que haría lo que fuera. Luego empecé a leer el guión y dije,
‘okay, balas de mis boobs’. Digo, eso
es lo último que necesito que hagan, pero bueno, lo puedo hacer. Por alguna
razón, la mayoría de la gente que no me conoce en persona cree que soy más
alta, grande y ancha de lo que soy. No se dan cuenta que mi pechos grandes me
hacen ver más corpulenta de lo que soy, pero mi cuerpo no es muy grande, tengo
huesos chicos. Llegué y la cosa esta era un tanque enorme y muy pesado. Lo
tuvieron que regresar al acerero para que lo volviera a hacer y cuando el tipo
llegó con esas cosas a ponérmelas y no dejábamos de reír. Fue ridículo».

Y
una vez que te quedaron ,¿te hicieron sentir poderosa de alguna forma? ¿O tu
cuerpo por sí mismo siempre ha sido un arma letal?

«Siempre
–ríe–. Desde el principio supe que tenía algo de qué aprovecharme, desde como
los 15 ya tuve estos senos enormes. Mi madre siempre me gritaba que Dios me iba
a castigar. Pero hice una carrera a partir de eso. Claro que sé que tengo otras
cosas qué ofrecer. También tengo un trasero genial –ríe–. Estoy bromeando, pero
todo es parte de quien soy y estoy usando lo que Dios me dio. Me lo dio por
alguna razón…» (Por favor noten que todo esto suena mucho más chistoso en
ese acento colombiano que tiene hablando inglés).

Robert
Rodriguez dice que no eres nada tímida, ¿de dónde tienes esa confianza sexual?
¿Te llegó por el éxito o siempre la has tenido?

«Sí,
soy latina, soy de Barranquilla, Colombia, yo ni siquiera sabía que había otro
tipo de traje de baño además de tangas. Cuando me mudé a Estados Unidos, no
entendía porqué las niñas aquí usaban estos trajes enormes que parecían pañales
en la playa. Los primeros 5 años tuve que bajarle mucho porque además venía de
trabajar en telenovelas latinas, donde lo más importante son las minifaldas y
el escote. Creo que solía vestirme como… bueno, tú sabes. Pero así somos todas
en Colombia, está en nuestra sangre ser sexy».

Just in case you haven’t seen the ads, in Robert Rodriguez‘s
new Machete sequel, Sofia Vergara plays Madame Desdemona, a woman with
mini-machine guns in her breasts. But then, with curves like hers, hasn’t the Modern Family star always been armed and dangerous?

She laughs, that infectious trademark laugh of hers, “You
know, I didn’t know what really what I was getting into when Robert called my
agent and said we want Sofia for this one. I was so excited, I always wanted to
do a movie with him so I’m like I’ll do it, I’ll do anything. Then I started to
read the script and I’m like okay, bullets from my boobs. I mean, that’s the
last thing I need from them but okay well, I can do that. But most people who
haven’t met me in person for some reason think I am taller and bigger and wider
and they don’t realize that what makes me look always bigger is my boobs that
are huge but the rest of my body is not that big, I have small bones. So I
arrive and the actual thing was like a tank, huge and very heavy so of course they
had to send it to the iron welder and rebuild it, and then the guy who came
with the things tried to put them on my breasts and we couldn’t stop laughing. It was
pretty ridiculous.”

But once ‘they’ fit, did it make you feel somehow empowered? Or
has body always been a lethal weapon?

“Always (Laughing). I knew I had something that I had to
take advantage of from the beginning, when I was like 15 and I already had
these huge boobs. And my mother would scream at me ‘God is going to punish you!’  But I’ve made my career out of that. Of
course, I know that I have more things to offer. I have a great ass too.
(Laughing) I’m joking but you know,  it’s
all been part of who I am and I’ve just been using what God gave me. He gave it
to me for a reason so…”   **(please note: this all sounds so much funnier in that
bubbly Columbian accent of hers!)

Robert Rodrigues says you aren’t shy at all, so where do you
think you got that sexual confidence that you have – did it come through success
or have you always had it?

“Yeah, I’m Latin and from Barranquilla, Colombia, so it’s
like I didn’t even know that there was other kind of bathing suits than G
strings. When I moved to the United States I am like why do girls here wear
these like bathing suits bottoms that are as big as diapers to go to the beach?
So the first 5 years I had to tone down myself because before when I was also
younger and working in Latin American television it was all about the mini
skirts and the cleavage. I think I used to dress like a … well, you know. But
we all do over there, in Colombia it’s like it’s in our blood to be sexy.”
