Lawrence.

Doing the rounds of TV talk shows while promoting his latest
movie The Rover, Rob Pattinson has
been making a lot of jokes about being homeless. But just because the 28-year-old
millionaire movie star doesn’t own a home right now hardly means he’s sleeping
on the streets. In fact rumor has it he’s staying in his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart‘s home so he can spend time with their dogs, Bear
and Bernie. (Don’t get excited, the two are not dating.)

“OK I am not quite homeless,” he admits when we meet to talk
about his latest movie The Rover,
from director David Michod. “I spent
about 6 months borrowing peoples’ houses which was nice. I actually had this
great house I bought in Los Feliz four or five years ago, but I sold it last
year because I suddenly realized I am not quite old enough to be dealing with plumbing
and stuff.” (laughs) OK so homeless in Hollywood, does that account for the
recent story in the Hollywood Reporter that someone stole his clothes? “Yeah, I
have no idea. I think it doesn’t make any sense to me. Did you ever see that
episode of South Park about the
underpants gnomes that steal your underpants. I think I got it. I think I kind
of – it’s that kind of situation so I just started wearing the same thing
pretty much every day, yeah, the uniform. I’ve literally I have not taken off
this jacket in weeks. It’s crazy but, I mean, it’s to do with like being really
OCD as well. That’s the annoying thing about getting photographed as well
because everyone’s like, He’s wearing the same thing every day.”

No, seriously. How can he keep a straight face? “Seriously, I
can’t find anything, it just comes from moving around so much. The other day I
wanted to find my Teen Choice awards,
I wanted to do something funny with them, and I couldn’t find them anywhere. My
life is in boxes. I think my friend Tom in London has most of my clothes because
I keep seeing him photographed wearing them, so yeah, I think I’ve solved that
mystery.”

After all the personal drama of a couple of years ago over
the highly publicized break up with his Twilight costar, it’s great to see him
happy and laughing – especially after watching his tough, intense performance
in The Rover. Also coming out this
year we’ll see Robert Pattinson in David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars
and Werner Herzog’s Queen of the Desert,
in which he steps into Peter O’Toole’s
most famous role as Col. T. E. Lawrence.  Are you excited to see our favorite former
vampire in these new roles?
