El buen año de Britt Robertson
La joven estrella de Tomorrowland me cuenta lo que aprendió de George Clooney.
Britt Robertson está teniendo un muy buen año, pues las tres películas más grandes de su carrera se estrenan con meses de separación. Y son cosas bastante impresionantes para una chica que acaba de cumplir 25 años y quien ya pasó de protagonizar una cinta con Scott Eastwood (la adaptación romántica de Nicholas Sparks, El viaje más largo), a coestelarizar con Hugh Laurie y George Clooney una de las películas más anticipadas del año, Tomorrowland, y además aparecer junto a Eddie Muprhy en el drama Cook, dirigida por Bruce Beresford.
Luego de pasar un rato con ella en Beverly Hills hace poco, es difícil imaginar a esta joven estrella intimidada por algo. «Uno pensaría que alguien con el estatus de George Clooney no podría convivir con alguien de 24 años y una niña de 12», dice sobre sí misma y su coestrella Raffey Cassidy. «Pero siempre me trató como una igual. Tuvimos discusiones muy divertidas, como cuando hicimos la escena del lago y él empezó a hacer como que lo estaban comiendo los castores. Fue muy chistoso. George lleva haciendo esto tanto tiempo y es tan inteligente para hacer cine en todos sus aspectos, como director, productor o actor. Él siempre está muy presente y te da cosas que otros actores no lograrían. Me dio muy buenos consejos sobre cómo seguir adelante en mi carrera, pues sabía que esto sería algo grande para mí. Me dijo, ‘no te conformes con esta película y esperes que algo bueno suceda: usa la inercia'».
Ni te preocupes, George. Inercia trae mucha.

Britt Robertson is having a very good year, with the three
biggest films of her career hitting the big screen within a few months of each
other. Pretty heady stuff for the just-turned-25-year-old who’s gone from
starring as the love interest opposite Scott Eastwood in the Nicholas Sparks’
romance adaptation The Longest Ride – to co-starring with Hugh Laurie and
George Clooney in one of the most anticipated summer adventure films,
Tomorrowland – to starring opposite Eddie Murphy in the upcoming drama Cook, directed
by Bruce Beresford.
But hanging out with her in Beverly Hills one recent
afternoon, it’s hard to imagine this bright young rising star is ever intimidated. “You’d think someone of George Clooney’s status
wouldn’t find it as easy to engage with a 24-year-old and a 12-year-old,» she says of herself and co-star Raffey Cassidy. «But
he always treated me like I was an equal. We had some really funny banter
though, like when we had the lake scene and he kept pretending that he was
being eating alive by beavers, which was pretty funny. George has been
doing this for so long and he’s really smart about film-making on all sides of
it as a director, as a producer, as an actor. He’s really in the moment and you
can get things from him that you wouldn’t get maybe from another actor. He gave
me some great advice on how to handle myself from this point forward, knowing
that this would be a pretty big deal for me. He said to me, ‘Don’t just ride on
this movie and hope that it does something good for you; get some momentum.’» Don’t worry George, momentum she has.
