¡Leo se vuelve salvaje!

Una tentadora ojeada a The Revenant

Personalmente, NO PUEDO ESPERAR.

Working in the
entertainment press, we see so many movies that sometimes seeing a preview clip of a film can
backfire. I mean, if that 10 or 20 minute preview doesn’t catch your interest,
by the time the finished film comes out you might be hard pressed to commit to watching the whole movie at a 2-hour
screening. At least that’s how I feel. But then there is the rare time when
that 10 or 20 minute preview on its own blows you away, because it’s better than most of the full-length
movies you’ve had to sit through.

And so it was with the early morning sneak peek
preview footage screening of THE REVENANT – Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s harsh,
gritty, graphic wilderness adventure epic, inspired by true events involving an early 1800’s fur
trapper who seeks revenge on his companions who had left him for dead after he
was mauled by a grizzly bear.

And bonus, hello! Who knew that
Leonardo DiCaprio would be on hand to introduce the footage? “It was a test of
all our endurance,” says the bearded actor. “I think we all knew going into it
we were embarking on an adventure that would test everything about us—and it
absolutely did. The weather was so excruciatingly cold.” Filmed chronologically
over seven months in the snows and bitter cold of Canada, Inarritu insisted on
using only natural light, which sometimes meant a tw0-hour shooting day. “We
were in very tough conditions in very unfriendly territories,” he recalls.
“Everybody was frozen, the equipment was breaking and to get the camera from
one place to another was a nightmare.”

Personally, I CAN NOT
WAIT.  (Film also stars Tom Hardy. U.S. release is scheduled for end
of this year.)
