What scares Daniel Radcliffe?

Seems like a natural question to ask him, now that he’s starring in the new horror film, The Woman in Black. He laughs. “The short answer is, I don’t particularly have any phobias that I’m aware of. But when I was a kid I was really freaked out by nuclear war and things like that, thinking Omigod the world’s going to end tomorrow.”

The former wizard is a busy guy these days, with one film opening and another in the works – Kill All Your Darlings in which he plays Beat-generation poet Allen Ginsberg. So busy, it’s rumored, to spend Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend, production assistant Rosie Coker. “She’s working right now,” he says, “which is kind of good because there’s no way I’m going to be able to see her over the next few weeks. So yes I will miss Valentine’s Day but I will definitely be making up for lost time after I get back. She obviously did a lot of traveling last year to come and visit me in New York as much as she could. You just try and make it work as easily as you can. She’s great.”

So then – what frightens him more, the specter of the woman in black, or the woman in white with a veil?  “Ha, excellently put!” he laughs. “I’m going to have to say the woman in black and the idea of that curse is a lot more terrifying. Although… I have no plans for the other, so at this point that’s a scary thought too. No, I’m not chasing that anytime soon. Not for a long long while. Yeah.”
